Cecilio Lopez

Cecilio Lopez

Cecilio Lopez is originally from Winnie, Texas, and brings a strong background in Catholic ministry, education, leadership, and community building to his role with Guidance in Giving. He earned bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Spanish from Texas State University and later completed a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Boston College.

Cecilio has spent years working with people through ministry, teaching, mentoring, and one-on-one coaching. One of his greatest strengths is connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds, building trust, and bringing communities together around a shared mission. His interest in development grew naturally from his ministry experience, where he saw firsthand how generosity can help good work grow and thrive.

One project Cecilio is especially proud of was helping establish Caminantes, a Hispanic Catholic ministry at Texas State University. What began with Spanish Bible studies eventually grew into a thriving community and led to the celebration of a Spanish Mass on campus. He has also served on international mission trips to Kolkata, India, and Honduras.

At Guidance in Giving, Cecilio especially values the company’s commitment to the mission of the Church. He is passionate about helping Catholic communities grow stronger and become, as he likes to say, more “dangerous for the Kingdom” by investing in their people, their mission, and the future of the Church.

Outside of work, Cecilio enjoys tennis, pickleball, good meals, and spending time with family and friends. He comes from a close-knit family of seven and is one of five siblings. His faith remains at the center of his life, guided by the motto Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam — “For the Greater Glory of God.”

And if Cecilio gets control of the playlist, George Strait’s “Amarillo By Morning” is likely to make an appearance.
