Project Description

Growing exponentially over the last 55 years, from a small country parish of 270 families to over 4,000 families that call Presentation Church home.  Parishioners come from over 100 zip codes and are involved in more than 70 ministries.  The physical plant has lagged behind in meeting the needs of this growing community. In looking to meet the challenges Presentation Church conducted a Feasibility Study the spring of 2016 to gauge support for a campaign, the first fundraising in 27 years.  With positive support from the community Presentation embarked on a capital campaign in August of 2016.

The campaign sought to modify the worship space to create “one church” without the need to build a new one. This plan seeks to make maximum use of infrastructure in place while creating a worship space that reflects the parish mission, dedication to welcoming others and commitment to future generations.  Joining the auditorium (originally for overflow) and the original church to create a semi-circle between the auditorium and the church building to create one church with an inviting welcoming area, and a new entrance, narthex and pews.  The parish would also craft new flexible meeting rooms, replacing disjointed smaller rooms. Finally a new Ministry Building would be constructed to meet the needs of ministries and Family Faith (Religious Education).

Currently, the campaign pledge total is over $6.5M or 108% of the parish’s goal of $6,000,000. This is more than 4.6 times the 2015-16 ordinary income for Church of the Presentation.
