Project Description
Before the construction was complete on Divine Mercy in September 2009, parishioners in the North Natomas area would gather for Mass in a rented hall at the Natomas Unified School District. Over 100 people attended the first Mass in the hall, which dated back to September 2004.
When the parish continued to grow, Divine Mercy needed more space to hold Faith Formation groups, CCD, and parish and finance councils meetings, just to name a few. In June 2011 the parish received approval from the city of Sacramento to install three portable classroom buildings.
Divine Mercy needed to reduce its current mortgage debt before they can begin and future campus development. The parish also needed to support and take part in the Diocesan ONE Campaign, which they directed $189,000 in funds to the campaign. To date, Divine Mercy has raised over $827,000 in pledges, 92% of Guidance In Giving, Inc. parish potential projection.
