Project Description
Guidance In Giving is honored to have partnered with Prince of Peace since 2005, conducting 3 capital campaigns and 2 offertory enhancement appeals. To date, we have raised over $18,000,000 for the Education Center, Sacramental Chapel and Rectory in 2005; expansion of the Church and grotto of Our Lady of Guadalupe in 2010 and most recently for the Parish Event Center. As the second largest parish in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston (7,500+ registered families,) Prince of Peace faces many unique challenges.
Most recently, Guidance In Giving partnered with Prince of Peace to raise over $6.5 million to expand the facilities used for their Youth Ministry and extensive Outreach programs that are so vital in “bringing the light of the Gospel” to the world. Guidance In Giving put together a campaign that was both sensitive to the diversity of this large parish and to the fact that this was their 4th campaign in 14 years. This diligent collaboration will allow Prince of Peace to soon break ground on these new facilities, as the goal was met (and exceeded!) just a few short months into the campaign, raising over $6.5 million towards the project.
The St. Andrew Discipleship Center will provide a great venue for Holy Day overflow Masses; as well as, concerts, nationally known speakers and a place for a large portion of the parish to gather for breaking bread. The St. Pedro Calungsod Youth Center will provide an opportunity for the parish’s over 750 teens to gather and further cultivate their faith in a secure, welcoming environment. Finally, the Mercy Center will be the new home for the parish’s well-known Outreach Ministry, which reaches over 4,000 of our most vulnerable brothers and sisters to give them the assistance they need.
