St. Mary of the Assumption, Milford, MA

“St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Milford, Massachusetts, partnered with Guidance In Giving, Inc. on two successful campaigns that revitalized parish life and renewed the beauty of their sacred space. Despite the unique challenge of serving four distinct communities—English, Portuguese, Hispanic, and Brazilian—the parish united under one vision of faith, stewardship, and shared purpose.

The first campaign, One Faith, One Family, Our Future Together, launched in 2019, sought to preserve and enhance the parish’s historic facilities while strengthening the faith life of the entire community. With strong leadership from the Building and Expansion Committee, Architect Committee, and Capital Campaign Committee, St. Mary’s parishioners responded with overwhelming generosity. The campaign raised over $1.6 million, surpassing its initial $1.5 million goal. These funds were instrumental in addressing much-needed repairs and initiating interior improvements to the church.

Building upon that success, the parish partnered again with Guidance In Giving in 2023 to complete the interior renovation. This second effort raised an additional $1.4 million, ensuring the completion of the project and further enhancing the worship experience for all parish families.

In addition to its own parish initiatives, St. Mary’s also participated in the Diocese of Worcester’s Legacy of Hope Campaign, committing $435,017 toward diocesan priorities while continuing to support the local vision for renewal.

Through both campaigns, St. Mary of the Assumption demonstrated that faith, unity, and commitment can transcend language and culture—bringing together a diverse community to secure the future of their parish for generations to come.”
