Project Detail
Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City, KS
“The Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Dodge City partnered with Guidance In Giving to launch the Preparing a Place Special Appeal to address growing space and facility needs. With over 3,000 registered households, the parish faced challenges including limited meeting space, aging facilities, and accessibility concerns. Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic School has outgrown its current building, while faith formation programs serving more than 650 children weekly lack adequate classrooms and resources.
The parish’s response is a multi-phased building project to unite all ministries, school programs, and parish activities on the Cathedral campus. Phase 1 includes constructing a connector building with meeting rooms, a gymnasium, and renovated social hall classrooms—estimated at $11 million. Phase 2 will build a new ADA-compliant classroom facility for Sacred Heart Catholic School, estimated at $12 million.
The Preparing a Place Appeal has received 358 pledges and gifts totaling $8.68 million, including $1.13 million in down payments, with an average pledge of $24,392. Donors pledged at an average rate of 3.7 times their annual offertory, demonstrating exceptional generosity. Through faith and stewardship, parishioners are helping create a unified, accessible, and vibrant home for worship, education, and community life.”
