Project Detail
St. Elizabeth of Hungary, Pflugerville, TX
“St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Pflugerville, Texas partnered with Guidance In Giving to launch the Building Our Community Campaign, an independent parish effort conducted in coordination with the Diocese of Austin’s Encountering Christ Capital Campaign. Under this combined structure, St. Elizabeth agreed to share 50% of funds raised with the Diocese until its diocesan goal of $899,500 was met.
The parish had previously attempted to participate in the diocesan campaign in 2018 and again in 2020, but both efforts were suspended—first due to low engagement and later because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In late 2022, St. Elizabeth invited Guidance In Giving to lead a renewed effort focused on parish priorities while fulfilling diocesan commitments. The Building Our Community Campaign officially began in early 2023 and continued through August 2023.
The campaign’s objectives include two major projects: the remodeling and expansion of the Parish Hall ($2.4 million) and the completion of the second floor of the Religious Education building ($1.6 million). Together, these initiatives will enhance space for worship, fellowship, and faith formation.
With approximately 4,000 registered households and a 2022 offertory of $1.1 million, the parish set an ambitious goal of $5 million—representing about 4.5 times its annual offertory—to fully fund all planned projects. While Guidance In Giving advised that a more feasible target would be between $2 million and $2.5 million, the parish’s decision to aim higher reflected its faith-driven determination to meet all community needs.
Despite prior challenges, St. Elizabeth of Hungary’s renewed campaign marked a turning point for the parish—reigniting engagement, strengthening unity, and building momentum toward a revitalized and vibrant faith community.”
